The newly upgraded Sea to Sky Highway was designed to accommodate traffic for the 2010 Winter Olympics, and now it's waiting for you. You won't believe your eyes as you travel this spectacular route.
The Start Line
Starting at sea level in Vancouver, riders will head over the Lions Gate Bridge in a dedicated lane on their way up to Whistler. Once over the bridge, riders will travel up Taylor Way to get onto the upper levels of Trans Canada Hwy with a right of way at all intersections. The journey then begins.

THE JOURNEY
Riders will travel the rest of the route in a dedicated lane all the way up to Whistler. You'll be distracted from the 2,400 meters in climbing by the spectacular views of Howe Sound as you ride to Squamish, the halfway mark and rest stop. You may be surprised to realize you'll also enjoy 1,750 meters of descent as you roll through the Coast Mountain Range for a net gain of 650 meters of elevation to arrive at the finish line in the heart of Whistler Village.
The Finish
Riders will finish along Blackcomb Way in Whistler and be guided into the rider only finish area in Lot 4 in the Whistler Parking area. Your personal luggage from the start will be available for pick up plus a complimentary bike check. Riders are then encouraged to join in the festivities at Celebration Plaza.
On Course Support

All aid stations will supply:
- Fresh water
- Nutritional supplements
- First Aid attendants will be available to help with any ailments to your body
- Toilets
- Mechanical assistance with fully trained mechanics and tools available to aid riders in making repairs. Mechanics will be available for services on a fee basis. Tools will be available for use but there will be charges for any parts you use in repairs
Please note: SPUD.ca Aid Stations will have nutritional supplements available but are not intended to provide the primary meal for riders during the day.
You can see the food that was supplised at each SPUD.ca Aid Station in 2011 here.
Mechanical and medical assistance will be available during the ride from roving agents on an as-needed basis. To signal that you want mechanical assistance, turn your bike upside down so it rests on the saddle and handle bars. This will clearly indicate you are waiting for assistance. Mechanical support will be provided by The Bike Gallery, Obsession Bikes and Corsa Cycles.
